As a kid, I don't know how many times I watched The Karate Kid films on television and dreamed of being Daniel LaRusso and being taught by Mr. Miyagi. This trilogy was such a big part of my childhood. When I saw that they were bringing back Daniel LaRusso for new adventures with the series Cobra Kai. I had mixed feelings. My feeling is always leave the classics alone. Trying to bring them back seldom works. So I was nervous to say the least.
Cobrai Kai debuted in 2018 on Youtube Red and then YouTube Premiere before moving to Netflix in 2021. Now, instead of this series being a prisoner of streaming forever, physical media fans can rejoice as a physical release is on the way.
Now Sony Home Entertainment has collected all 6 season of Cobra Kai on Blu-ray. Now you don't have to worry about streaming this series, hoping for a stable internet connection, or making sure your subscription is up to date. Now, if you want to watch this series, all you have to do is put a disc in a player and press play.
Synopsis: Bitter enemies. Warring dojos. New blood. Daniel La Russo (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) reignite old West Valley rivalries in this follow-up series to the Karate Kid films.
This Youtube Red/Netflix series brought Daniel and Johnny together for one massive final story to their epic rivalry. But in addition, we see so many of the other characters from the trilogy show up in surprise after surprise. The action is great, and the stories are well told. The only downside of this series is the adult language and violence. This is for mature audiences; parents will have to decide whether they want their kids to see it.
The series ran for 6 seasons, a total of 65 episodes. The first 5 seasons saw a total of 10 episodes per season and the final season an epic 15 episodes. These episodes are spread across 13 Blu-ray discs. These 6 Blu-ray cases are housed inside a cool-looking slip-box.
