The Miracle is celebrating its 66th birthday. With this epic of a birthday Warner Archive Collection have restored The Miracle and released it on Blu-ray for the first time ever.
Synopsis: In Spain's convent of the valley of Mira Flores stands a symbol of sanctity: a statue of the Madonna. But one fateful day, the statue becomes more than a symbol. It becomes flesh and blood.
The Miracle benefits from a good budget and believable performances by Roger Moore and Caroll Baker. The story tries to blend religious themes with historical fiction but doesn't quite hit the high points. The best part of the film is the visual effects and the musical score.
The Miracle was shot in Technirama. This was the short-lived alternative to the more popular CinemaScope. The film is a visually impressive film, but the story lacks the depth needed to make this film engaging and memorable.
Warner Archive Collection have transferred The Miracle to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in 2.35:1 Letterbox aspect ratio. The audio track is an English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono. There are also English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
Warner Archive has restored this film in 6k. The picture is sharp, and the colors are rich. The audio is clean with no pops or hiss. When watching Warner Archive's restoration there are no age-related anomalies. Warner Archive didn't just restore this film and release it on Blu-ray they added some nice bonus features on this disc.
Special Features:
* 2 Classic Warner Bros. Bugs Bunny Cartoons
- BONANZA BUNNY
- HARE-ABIAN NIGHTS
* Original Theatrical Trailer
For me the addition of classic cartoons always makes these Blu-ray releases so much better. And to have not one but two Bugs Bunny cartoons and the original trailer. Takes this release up a couple notches.
Now while The Miracle is not one of the most outstanding religious-based films of its time. Itis not without its charm. And many will find a lot of joy in watching this film. And if you do want to see this film, you cannot find a better what to see it than on this new Warner Archive Blu-ray release.
So, if you would like to add the Blu-ray release of The Miracle to your home video library head over to MovieZyng or Amazon and order your copy today! You will be impressed with how great the film looks.
