Snakes on a Plane (2006) 4K UHD Review – Cult Classic starring Samuel L. Jackson Takes Flight in Ultra HD

In 2006 New Line Cinema used the internet to hype the Samuel L. Jackson action thriller Snakes on a Plane. By the time of the August 18th release day fans were in a frenzy for this ophidiophobic adventure.

Snakes on a Plane is now celebrating it's 20th anniversary. And because of this epic emerald anniversary Arrow Video have restored and released this film on 4K UltraHD.

Synopsis: Samuel L. Jackson (Deep Blue Sea) is FBI agent Neville Flynn, escorting a key witness in the case against a ruthless crime lord on a commercial jet from Hawaii to Los Angeles. But at 30,000 feet, justice takes a backseat when the mobsters unleash a writhing cargo of venomous snakes into the cabin. With passengers dropping like flies and the cockpit compromised, Flynn and a ragtag band of terrified travelers are forced to enter a fight for survival against nature's deadliest stowaways.

Snakes on a Plane is unashamedly B-movie fare. Samuel L. Jackson and the whole cast play it straightforward. Even though everyone knows this is absolutely absurd. But that is what makes this film so much fun. That is perhaps why Snakes on a Plane have achieved cult classic status over the years.

A
rrow Video have transferred Snakes on a Plane in 4K in 2160p and presented in 2.35:1 aspect ratio in Dolby Vision (HDR10 compatible). The audio track is the original English DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio. There is also the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Arrow Video have performed a brand new 4k restoration of Snakes on a Plane. The picture quality of this film simply blew me away. It is as crisp and as clean as I have ever seen this film. The colors are bright and vibrant. The flesh tones are correct, and the audio is as clear as a bell.
