Channing Tatum is a super talented actor. The first time I ever saw him on film was in the movies G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra and G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Recently he has moved into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Gambit in Deadpool & Wolverine and the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.
In 2025 Channing Tatum took on the role of the real life spree robber Jeffrey Manchester. The film was entitled Roofman. Now after a successful theatrical run, it is time for a physical media release. Paramount Pictures Home Entertainment has now released Roofman on 4K UltraHD/Blu-ray and Digital.
Synopsis: Based on an unbelievable true story, Roofman follows Jeffrey Manchester (Channing Tatum), an Army veteran and struggling father who turns to robbing McDonald's restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs, earning him the nickname: Roofman. After escaping prison, he secretly lives inside a Toys "R" Us for six months, surviving undetected while planning his next move. But when he falls for Leigh (Kirsten Dunst), a divorced mom drawn to his undeniable charm, his double life begins to unravel, setting off a compelling and suspenseful game of cat and mouse as his past closes in.
Roofman is a mix of action/crime drama with a sprinkle of comedy and a big cherry of a love story on top. Channing Tatum really shines in this this role, and there is wonderful chemistry with Kirsten Dunst. Many films are a one watch deal. I have to say Roofman is defiantly one that I will be revisiting again. It was that enjoyable of an experience.
The film has been transferred to 4K UHD in 2160p and on Blu-ray in 1080p and presented in Widescreen 2.39:1 aspect ratio. The Audio options are an English 5.1 Dolby TrueHD, English Audio Description and French 5.1 Dolby. Finally there is the option for subtitles in English, English SDH, Spanish and French.
The 4K presentation looks and sounds amazing. Recreating the 90s especially with Toys “R” Us really looks spectacular in UltraHD. The picture is crisp and clean and the dialogue is clear. This film is a pleasure to watch in 4K! But this release is not just the film, there is some cool bonus features as well. Take a look at what is included.
