Shelby Oaks Blu-ray Review – Supernatural Horror with a Slow-Burn Bite

Chris Stuckmann was inspired to step into the director's chair by the greats including George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, M. Night Shyamalan, and Christopher Nolan. In 2011 he started his Youtube Channel and as of January 2026 he has over 2 Millions subscribers.

He started making short films in 2013 than in 2025 his theatrical debut the supernatural horror mystery entitled Shelby Oaks made its way to theaters in the US. Now as we enter the new year this Stuckmann horror film makes its physical media debut on Blu-ray.

Synopsis: A woman's desperate search for her long-lost sister falls into obsession upon realizing that the imaginary demon from their childhood may have been real.

Shelby Oaks has a decent horror film, nothing ground-breaking here. It has a real Blair Witch project feel to it. Chris Stuckmann uses Paranormal YouTubers Riley Brennan, Laura Tucker, David Reynolds, and Peter Bailey to give it a real feal.

Shelby Oaks has a few jump scares which is nice, but the film suffers from pacing issues and there is not much character development. Plus, the slow burn of this film is not conducive for horror fans in this generation. Most want instant scares, and don't know the art of patience.

Shelby Oaks has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in 2.39:1 aspect ratio. There are two audio tracks an English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and an Audio Description 2.0. There are also subtitles in English, Spanish and French.

The film transfer to Blu-ray is crisp and clean. There are no signs of digital artifacts or audio anomalies. This Blu-ray release is not just a bare bones Blu-ray. Neon added some nice bonus features to make this a nice addition to your horror Blu-ray collection. Take a look at what is included.

* Six Episodes of the Making of Shelby Oaks
* Four Episodes of Paranormal Paranoids
* The Final Tape
* Crime Scene Gallery
* Director's Commentary
* Special Hidden Feature
* Trailer and TV Spots

If you like discover little known directors and non-mainstream films, this horror film Shelby Oaks on Blu-ray could be a nice film to check out. And if you are like me the physical media release is so much better than the streaming as you get the cool bonus features seen above.
