On my Mount Rushmore of comedy duos there are The Three Stooges, Abbott and Costello, Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis and of course Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. Through the years countless comedians have been inspired by the comedy of Laurel and Hardy. So, their inspirational comedy will live forever in future generation.
Kit Parker Films and MVD Visual joined forces to bring newly restored versions of Laurel and Hardy's classic short films to Blu-ray. Several years ago fans were thrilled with the Blu-ray set Laurel and Hardy The Definitive Restorations Volume 1. I like many other fans have been waiting with bated breath for the next volume. Well, wait no more. Volume 2 is finally here! This 2-disc Blu-ay set feature 8 of the boy's best shorts restored in 4k!

These shorts have been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and are presented in 1.33:1aspectratio. The audio tracks are English LPCM 2.0 tracks. These are not just any transfers they are from newly remastered 4K scans from the original 35mm nitrate films.
These shorts are crisp and clean with not damage to the prints that I could see. Jeff Joseph/SabuCat and UCLA Film & Television Archive and the Library of Congress deserve a huge thank you for the amazing job in these restorations. These Laurel and Hardy shorts never looked better.
