Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999) Blu-ray Review

When you think of spy movies most think of secret agent 007 James Bond. Or when you think spoofs we probably think of the classic TV series Get Smart and the movie The Nude Bomb. In 1997 Mike Myers brought the world a new spy spoof movie to the world in Austin Powers International Man of Mystery. No one could have imagined how popular this film would be. So it was inevitable that the international man of mystery would return for another adventure!

In 1999 Mike Myers would bring back his groovy spy character for another adventure in Austin Powers The Spy Who Shagged Me. The film is celebrating its 26th anniversary. So Warner Brothers Home Entertainment has re-released this film on Blu-ray, and I couldn't be more excited!

Synopsis: First he fought for the Crown, now he's fighting for the family jewels! Dr. Evil has invented a time machine and plans to return to the 1960s and steal Austin Powers' mojo, inadvertently leaving him "shagless".

Austin Powers first film was so much fun it would be hard to equal the fun, but Mike Myers did just that. Most of the time a sequel is never as good as the original and while the first film is the best, this sequel is pretty awesome!

The film sequel sees the return of stars
Mike Myers, Michael York, Mindy Sterling, Robert Wagner, Will Ferrell and Seth Green. But there is also the addition of Verne Troyer as Mini-Me and Heather Graham as Felicity Shagwell.

Warner Brothers Home Entertainment have transferred Austin Powers: The Spy who Shagged Me to Blu-ray in 1080p and presented in 2.40:1 aspect ratio. There are audio options English Dolby TrueHD 5.1, Dolby Digital 5.1, Spanish 2.0 and Portuguese 2.0. There is also the option for subtitles in English, Spanish and Portuguese

Austin Power 2 looks and sounds groovy on Blu-ray! The colors and bright and vibrant and the picture is sharp and clean. The audio is clear as a bell. There is no signs of digital artifacts or audio anomalies on this Blu-ray. The film looks tremendous in HD! But that is not all that is included on this Blu-ray Warner Brothers added some cool bonus features, take a look!
