Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Season 1 (2024) DVD Review

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles first burst onto TV screens in the 1980s. these amazing characters have made live action movies and TV series, animated movies, reboots, reboot series. Time after time we get more and more.

In 2023 a new animated film starring our favorite mutant turtles debuted. It was entitled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. Now some loved it others hated it. But it was a success, so thus the sequel series by Nickelodeon was released in August of 2024. Now the complete first season of this series is available on DVD and Blu-ray.

Synopsis: Gear up for twice the Turtle Power with Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, featuring two epic 6-episode story arcs that find Leo, Mikey, Raph, and Donnie facing greater challenges and even bigger baddies than they've ever encountered before!

Now I have to be totally honest here. I grew up on the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. And while I respect and appreciate all these movies and series. To me no movie or series will ever come close to the classic.

No doubt there are a lot of fans of the Mutant Mayhem movies and this sequel series. So if you love it more 'turtle power' to you.

Disc 1: Leo Nardo Stands Alone / Mickey Does the Right Thing / Raphael Thinks it Through / Donnie Hangs Tough / Bishop Makes her Move / Night of the Mechazoids

Disc 2: Raph vs. Water / Mickey takes Charge / Splinter and April Fight a Goldfish / Donnie goes deep / Leonardo Saddles Up / The Pearl

All 12 episodes have been transferred to 2 DVD discs. I like the fact that both story arcs are collected on one disc. They are presented in widescreen format. the audio is an English Dolby Digital 5.1. there is also the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. 

The transfer of these episodes to DVD are really nice. There is no digital artifacts or compression issues that I could see. And the audio is clean with no audio anomalies. The episode really looks nice.

If there I any complaint I have with this DVD it would be that there are no bonus features. Cast interviews, making of featurette would have been nice. Also, I am not a huge fan of made-on-demand discs. I much prefer pressed DVDs as they have a longer lifespan.
