Jonny Quest Double Feature

In 1964 Hanna-Barbera debuted an animated science fiction adventure show entitled Jonny Quest. This show was not like the typical Hannah-Barbera shows like The Flintstones, The Jetsons and Huckleberry Hound. Jonny Quest ran on ABC on Friday Nights. Sadly, this series only lasted one season. I think it was just way ahead of its time, as it has over the years become a classic.  

Almost 30 years after the original series took the air for its short but inspiring television run, Hanna-Barbera produced two full length made-for-tv movies. Now as we have hit over 30 years from these films first airing, Warner Archive have released the two movies on Blu-ray a perfect companion piece to the previously release Jonny Quest TV series Blu-ray!

Now while the Jonny Quest series is a must watch series in my opinion. These films hold all the spirit of the original series. The stories, the adventures, the voice acting everything is just perfect here. These films are over 30 years old, and they still are exciting and fun filled adventures all these years later. I truly believe that kids in this generation will still find these adventures as amazing, as kids in the 90s did.

Warner Archive have transferred these two animated TV movies to Blu-ray in 1080p. There are presented in the original 1.33:1 aspect ratio. No stretching of the picture here. The audio track in an English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0. Finally, there is the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Both films are loaded onto 1 Blu-ray disc. These films run around 90 minutes each. So, there is more than enough room on this Blu-ray. The films look and sound simply amazing. The colors are bright, the picture is crisp, and the audio is clean. There is no digital artifacts or audio anomalies. This Blu-ray release is the perfect way to witness these films.

Now there are no bonus features on this Blu-ray, but hey you are getting not one, but two exciting Jonny Quest movies. How can you go wrong. It is literally two movies for the price of one! 

If you have the Warner Archive Blu-ray release of Jonny Quest the Complete TV Series, this is a perfect addition to that collection. In fact, I would even venture to say the collection is not complete without this double feature Blu-ray. And here is to hoping the rest of the Jonny Quest shows are on their way to Blu-ray soon.
