The Profane Exhibit: Unearthed Films Blu-ray Review

Anthology films have been made throughout the ages. A lot of them have been horror anthologies. Recently a new horror anthology was released it was entitled "The Profane Exhibit".

Unearthed Films have been releasing a lot of horror films on Blu-ray in the recent moths such as The Abandoned, August Underground Trilogy, and The Guyver. Now just in time for Halloween season this new horror Anthology The profane Exhibit is released on Blu-ray.

Synopsis: Ladies and gentlemen! My fellow creatures of the night! You are invited to join us on a perilous journey into the land of the damned. Please ensure to keep your limbs safely inside the speeding vehicle at all times, for what you are about to witness is a dangerous miracle of the macabre. Ten renowned horror movie directors from all over the world have recreated their most gruesome dreams and frenzied nightmares for your viewing displeasure. Your ticket entitles you to enjoy a surfeit of screams, palpitations, and gut-wrenching violence - the like of which has never before been seen by man or beast. Watch your step, don't look behind you, and try to keep your eyes open because you are about to witness...'THE PROFANE.

These ten acclaimed horror directors from all over the world were brought together to bring this horror film to life! The horror on display here is unpleasant to say the least. Now the title pretty much tells the story of this release. These stories push the line of what some might call "good taste".

The stories include everything from extreme graphic horror, cannibalism, rape, incest and more. In all honesty it was a hard film for me to sit through. Sensitive audiences will find it hard to sit though as well. But with all films there are audiences for it. And while it was not for me. I am sure that there will be people who will love this film. So, as they say, "more power to ya!"

Unearthed Films have released this film to Blu-ray in 1080p and it is presented in 2.33:1 aspect ratio. The audio is a multilanguage audio trans presented in PCM 2.0. There are also subtitles in English and Spanish.

As far at this transfer goes. The film looks and sounds really good. The picture is crisp and clean, and the audio is clear. There are no signs of digital artifacts that I could see. One thing is for sure with an Unearthed Films Blu-ray you can rest assured that quality is the best it can be. But in addition to a great transfer Unearthed Films added some nice bonuses to this Blu-ray. take a look at what is included.

* Audio Commentary by Director Michael Todd Schneider and Producer Amanda Manuel and Ultra Violent Magazine's Art Ettinger

* Tiffany Blem Interviews Jeremy Kasten

* Tiffany Blem Interviews Uwe Boll

* A Mini Documentary 'Ten Years Later' by Marion Dora

This is why I love physical media over streaming. When you stream a movie that's all you get, but on Blu-ray additional interviews, featurettes and more. Simply put you just can beat physical media for the most bang for your buck.

So, if you like films that push the envelope, The Profane Exhibit is going to be one you will want to add to your collection. And with all the bonus features, it makes this release that much better. Head over to MVDShop and order your copy of the Profane Exhibit on Blu-ray or DVD if you prefer.
