Huge Update to the Shane McMahon AEW Saga

As reported here Shane McMahon had conversations with people about how cool it might be if he showed up on AEW! Well, in a huge update we can confirm that Shane and AEW Owner Tony Khan had a private meeting.

On Monday July 29th Tony and Shane at a private office in an Arlington airport. Their meeting reportedly was about the possibility of Shane coming in and working with AEW!

Now in an update to that meeting. Wednesday night on the Busted Open After Dark podcast, Bully Ray (Bubba Ray Dudley) revealed that he received a text from Shane McMahon. He shared that text. The statement reads as follows,

“Tony and I were connected through a mutual friend and we had a great meeting. We talked about many things, but mostly about our shared love for the business and the rewards and challenges of working with family. I congratulated him on the five year anniversary of AEW and look forward to how he evolves the business moving forward.”

Many have wondered if this was a private meeting and not to be published how did the world get the picture seen above! Well, we now have the answer! AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone (FKA Sasha Banks), who recently ran into Shane McMahon at an airport, is taking credit for being the person who took the photo. She posted on X (FKA Twitter).

“lol I took that pic 🤑 #AEW”
