The Blind (2023) Blu-ray Review

The Blind Blu-ray Cover
Duck Dynasty® was an American reality television series that aired on A&E from 2012 to 2017. The series followed the Robertson family, who operated their family business, Duck Commander. But the leaders of the family Phil and Marsha "Miss Kay" Robertson had a unique start to their family.

On September 28, 2023, a biopic about Phil and Miss Kay was released in theaters by Fathom Events. And as of this writing it is the highest grossing domestic theatrical release. But now it is time for a physical media release. And the good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment is giving film fans the opportunity to own this film on Blu-ray or DVD.

Long before Phil Robertson (Duck Dynasty®) became a reality TV star, he fell in love with Miss Kay and started a family, but his demons threatened to tear their lives apart. Set in the backwoods swamps of 1960s Louisiana, THE BLIND shares never-before-revealed moments in Phil’s life as he seeks to conquer the shame of his past, ultimately finding redemption in an unlikely place.

This film is a well written and beautifully shot film. The great outdoors really become almost a character in itself in this film. The Blind tells the tale of transformation. How a person you would never dream could break out of the prison of addiction, depression and violence and be set free. The film truly is a captivating biopic.

Andrew Hyatt co-wrote the screenplay (with Stephanie Katz) and directed this film. The cast is very good and includes,
Aron Von Andrian (BBC's Dodger), Amelia Eve (The Haunting of Bly Manor), Matthew Erick White (Amazon's Max and Me), John Ales (The Nutty Professor II: The Klumps), Connor Tillman (Snag), Aaron Dalla Villa (All those Small Things) and Danish singer Emily DeForest.

The Blind has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p in 2.39:1 aspect ratio. The audio is DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. There are
also English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. The film transfer is really nice. The picture is crisp and clean, and the audio is clear.

Now in addition to a gorgeous looking transfer of this film, mill Creek Entertainment added some nice bonus features. Take a look at what is included on this Blu-ray.

* Deleted Scenes (7 minutes of 4 bonus scenes that were shot but deleted from the final film cut!)

* The Story Behind THE BLIND From the People Who Lived It (8 and a half minute interviews with Phil Robertson, Jan Dasher, Phil's Sister and Bill Smith)

This is a great little film of tragedy, redemption, forgiveness and transformation. I highly recommend it for any film fan that love a good dramatic biopic. Mill Creek Entertainment's Blu-ray release has some nice bonus features. So, the physical copy is so much better than a digital copy!

If you would like to own The Blind on Blu-ray or DVD head over to Amazon and order your copy today. It truly is an inspiring tale, worth checking out!
