Denver The Last Dinosaur: The Complete Series DVD Review

There is nothing better than 80s and 90s cartoons. I remember as kid enjoying many of these cartoons. Even as an adult I still like to break out some of those old cartoons and relive my childhood. It's what keeps me young.

Now kids have always loved dinosaurs. So, what better cartoon that kids with a pet dinosaur. That is the formula for a great cartoon. And thus, Denver the Last Dinosaur was born.

Denver started it's run in fall in 1988 and ran for two seasons. A total of 50 episodes. Now the good folks at VCI Entertainment and MVD Visual have released the whole series on DVD.

In California a group of friends Jeremy, Mario, Shades, Wally, and Casey find a dinosaur egg that has been preserved. When the egg hatches a baby dinosaur emerges. Instantly the friends decide to protect Denver, as they named him. But they must protect him from evil people that want to extort him.

This series is a lot of fun. It is so colorful as all cartoons from the 80s and 90s. It is the perfect cartoon for viewing with the whole family. Young and old alike will enjoy the adventures of Denver and his human friends. That is why the National Education Association deemed it recommended viewing for its engaging, non-violent storylines.

Now admittedly a lot of shows from the 80s and 90s transition well to this generation. But I have to say that Denver the Last Dinosaur is the exception to that rule. These episodes are fun, they feel retro, and they have that classic animation I love so much. Everything is computer animated these days and it is so cool to see actual drawn animation.
