A Question of Silence / Broken Mirror (Blu-ray Reviews)

Marleen Gorris is an outspoken feminist and a retired filmmaker. She won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 68th Academy Awards for her 1995 film Antonia's Line. But probably just as impressive is the fact that she the "Golden Calf", the grand prize for the Dutch Film festival for her first film entitled, De stilte rond Christine M. Cult Epics restorations of these films are simply amazing! They look at sound stunning! I have been thoroughly impressed with the way these film transfers look! Bit I must be honest the films themselves can be a bit extreme for some audiences. Includ9ng me. They feature sexual content and nudity. The elements of these films are very adult and could be considered offensive in this day and age. The stories are intense and relentless.

Marleen Goriss deserves a lot of credit for her courage she showed in chasing her dream. She became a female director in a time when that wasn't the norm. And beyond that being very success at it as well!

With interviews, commentaries, trailers, photo galleries and more. These two Blu-rays would make great additions to any film collector's foreign film wing.
