The Lost World The Complete Series DVD Review

In 1912 Sir Arthur Conan Doyle published an sci-fi adventure novel that has thrilled readers for generations. The novel has been adapted into feature films, mini-series events and television series.

In 1999 the iconic novel was brought to life in an epic 3 season series, that fans loved. Sadly it was cancelled before the adventures could find their way home. But that doesn't mean the adventures are exciting. they defiantly are. Now the good folks at Film Chest Media Group have released the entire series on DVD.

Following a crash landing, a group discovers a mysterious plateau and a beautiful jungle woman named Veronica Layton, who has been living in the wilderness since her parents disappeared 11 years earlier, having vanished under mysterious circumstances.

As the group realized they are trapped in this lost world, they must battle against many hostile elements including a mysterious force which created this world. Together, they fight to survive against carnivorous dinosaurs, vicious Neanderthals, a race if lizard men, and other dangers as they search for a way to escape.

The action is great, the stories are well written and the character development in this series is so good. As the series goes on we really become invested in the lives of these characters. It is a shame that this series was cancelled before a conclusion could have been filmed. You become so invested in these characters that you would like to see them resolve their issues and get home.

All three season 66 TV episodes and the original pilot movie are spread across 12 DVD. The episodes are presented in their original full screen format and in 2.0 audio. There is English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Now these episodes are not high definition they are standard definition. And it is understandable as this was a low budget show and HD was still in it's infancy at the fin it was made. But these episodes look and sound pretty good. I am so glad that Film Chest transferred these episodes in their original full screen format. There is no stretching of the screen to fit HD Televisions.

Now it would have been easy for Film Chest to just put all the TV series on this DVD set and it would be totally amazing. But I think it is so awesome that they also included the TV Movie that aired on DirecTV and TNT. This movie was cut into the first two episodes of the series. But to have the unedited TV movie makes this so much better.

I have always enjoyed Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World book and movies. Now to have this massive and absolutely amazing complete TV series to add to my collection. To say I am happy is an immense understatement.

So if you love sci-fi television, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Film Chest Media Group's DVD release of the Complete series of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World is a must own. Head over to Amazon and order your copy today. You will have days and days of fun binging this series.
