In 2020 Neal McDonough starred in the western adventure entitled The Warrant. The good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment had released this amazing film on DVD. Well, now three years later McDonough returns for another run in the old west with the sequel The Warrant Breaker's Law.
Marshal John Breaker (Neal McDonough) and his trusted deputy, Bugle Bearclaw, escort a wanted outlaw West for his day in court. When they come across a town defending their hard-earned gold from an evil gang, they must decide what human cost is too high for doing the right thing.
The Warrant was such a tremendous low budget western from Imagicomm Entertainment. So going into a sequel I felt it was going to be hard to hit the heights of the first one. Screen writer Shea Sizemore and Director Brent Christy return to make the sequel to the amazing first film. Who better to continue the story than them.
When viewing this film I must say it is an engaging and action packed sequel! I was looking for a dip in the production, most sequel are not as good as the first one. And while I can't say it is better or even as good I can say I enjoyed this sequel just as much as the first one!
Neal McDonough is simply amazing, but the supporting cast is good as well! We see Dermot Mulroney (My Best Friend's Wedding), Bruce Boxleiner (Tron), Amy Hargreaves (Brainscan), Jackson Kelly (Witch Mountain). No wonder it was nominated for a Golden Nymph Award in the Fiction category at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival.
Mill Creek Entertainment has transferred this film to DVD in Anamorphic Widescreen in 1.78:1 aspect ratio. The audio soundtrack in a Stereo 5.1. Finally there is an option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. The film transfer looks and sounds incredible.
Now an exciting western adventure is not all that is included on this DVD. The bonus features included, An Inside Look featurette, a photo gallery and trailers, The Warrant, Country Line: All In, Country Line: No Fear and Blu Ridge.
So while The Warrant and this sequel Breaker's Law may not be the great American Western. It may never hit the heights of such films as True Grit, High Noon, The Searchers, Shane, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly or Once upon a time in the west. But these are entertaining good versus evil westerns, and in the end that's all you really need is to be entertained.
So if you love westerns The Warrant Breaker's Law would make a great addition to your DVD collection. Head over to Amazon and order your copy today.
