4. Ernest Borgnine: Marty (1955) Marty Piletti (Ernest Borgnine) is a middle-aged bachelor butcher who meets and falls in love with a school teacher.
3. John Wayne: True Grit (1969) Rooster Cogburn (John Wayne) is a drunken, hard-nosed U.S. Marshal and a Texas Ranger who is hired by a stubborn teenager to track down her father's murderer in Indian Territory.
2. Gregory Peck: To Kill A Mockingbird (1962) Atticus Finch (Gregory Peck) is a widowed lawyer who defends a black man falsly accused of rape charge.

Humphrey Bogart: The African Queen (1951) During World War I in East Africa, a drunken riverboat captain Charlie Allnut (Humphrey Bogart) rescues a strait-laced English missionary Rose Sayer (Katherine Hepburn) from the Germans. Instead of escaping to safety she convinces him to attack a German gunship.
There are so many great actors that could have been included in this list. But with such a few spots it is hard to narrow it down. So this are our favorite Best Actor Oscar winners.
