George Clooney is a Hollywood icon. He has starred in multiple great movies throughout his career. He has put on the cowl and cape to play The Dark Knight in Batman and Robin. Went on the run in Brother where art thou? Found himself in space in Solaris and Gravity! And helped plan the perfect crime in Oceans 11, 12 and 13.
The good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment realizing people love some George Clooney have made a double feature Blu-ray release of Clooney films. Let's take a look at what is included on this Blu-ray.

When watching this double feature, one thing became perfectly clear. George Clooney never just collected a paycheck. He always put everything he had into every role. Leatherheads is a great period piece I have always enjoyed this film. Now for The American I was expecting an action-packed thriller. I was disappointed. This one was more of a slow-burn. It was also loaded with extreme violence, profanity and nudity.
Now I realize that The American has it's fans and by no means am I dismissing this film for fans that love it. It is just for me I didn't enjoy it as much as I did Leatherheads. To me Leatherheads is star of this double feature.
While this may be a George Clooney double feature there are a lot of great supporting actors included in this double feature. There is Paolo Bonacelli (Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom), Violante Placido (Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance), John Krasinski (The Office), Renée Zellweger (Judy).
Now both of these films are housed on the same Blu-ray disc. They are transferred in 1080p with The American in 2.35:1 aspect ratio and Leatherheads in 1.85:1 aspect ratio. Both films soundtrack are English 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. There is also English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
You might think two feature length films on one Blu-ray disc it too much, but you would be wrong. Both films picture quality is crisp and the soundtracks are clear. The details of these transfers are simply amazing.
Universal Pictures have released these film previously on Blu-ray, but sadly none of the bonus feature were ported over on this double feature. But let's be honest here where can your get two George Clooney feature films on Blu-ray for a minimal price? No where but with this release.
