The 1960s was a turbulent time in our world. From the War in Vietnam to the fight for civil rights. The Cuban Missile Crisis and the failed  Bay of Pigs invasion. It was also a tragic time as this 60s saw the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr.

One of the bright spots of the 1960s was the movies. The actors and actresses that thrived in the 60s included Jack Lemmon, Carol Lynley, Dean Jones, Marlon Brando, Jane Fonda, Robert Redford, Dean Martin, Stella Stevens, Jerry Lewis and Peter Lawford.

Now the fine folks at Mill Creek Entertainment have released a DVD set entitled Through the Decades 1960s. This 4 disc set features 12 swinging sixties flicks. Let's take a look at what is included in this set.

This is a tremendous collection of 60s movies. A nice mix of classic black and white and color films. This DVD set really has something for everyone. There is drama and comedy, crime thrillers, war, historical adventures. This is exactly what you are looking for from a decades collection.

These films look and sound truly great on these DVD discs. There is only one thing that seemed a bit strange to me in how these 12 films were divided among the 4 disc. It should be three films per disc. But one of the discs has four films (Lilith, Mickey One, Luv, Hook line and Sinker while another disc only has two, Who was that lady and How to save your marriage (and ruin your life).

Now I won't mind if the film time frames would have matched up. But as I crunched the numbers it could have been 3 on one and 3 on the other and the time frame wouldn't have been much different. But that is a minor complaint as the picture quality is still pretty good.

If you are a fan of 60s movies this is one amazing little DVD set. You can head over to Amazon.com and order your copy today.

Through The Decades The 1960s will be released on January 25th, 2022.
