Arrow Video has been releasing some amazing Japanese Blu-rays Here recently. Including Graveyards of Honor and the epic Complete Gamera Collection.
Arrow Video has brought us a double feature of films from Japanese maverick director Yasuzo Masumura. The double feature is a thrill ride of a double feature. Black Test Car and The Black Report are making their worldwide Blu-ray debut.
Movie Rating:
****=Don’t Miss it!***=Worth a look.
**=An Ok way to spend an evening.
*=You haven’t missed anything.
Black Test Car (1962) Two car manufacturers each spy on one another before the launch of their new sports cars. ***
The Black Report (1962) A story of murder, money and lies! A public prosecutor goes up against a crooked lawyer who will get his witnesses to say whatever it takes to win. ***
Both of these films are gripping, thrilling tales of corporate and legal corruption. The direction is amazing and the acting is extremely believable. And as for the restoration Arrow Video has done another amazing job. The black and white picture are pin point sharp in there presentations.
SPECIAL EDITION CONTENTS
So As for special content. It is a bit on
the lightside. Which can be expected from a somewhat obscure Japanese
release. But I think real movie fans will find this release something
special.
If you would like to add Black Test Car and The Black Report to your collection I highly suggest heading over to Amazon.com and get you copy today.
Out of 4 Film Reels we would score Arrow Video's Blu-ray release of Yasuzo Masumura Double Feature....
(The only reason for the score of 3 is because of the lightness of bonus features. But it is still a solid release.)
