On June 5th 2026, Amazon/MGM Studios brought the world the long-anticipated live-action version of Masters of the Universe. Now we can bring this new live-action version of Masters of the Universe home forever. As Alliance Entertainment has released this film on DVD, Blu-ray and yes, 4k UltraHD.
Synopsis: After being separated for 15 years, the Sword of Power leads Prince Adam (Nicholas Galitzine) back to Eternia where he discovers his home shattered under the fiendish rule of Skeletor (Jared Leto). To save his family and his world, Adam must join forces with his closest allies, Teela (Camila Mendes) and Duncan/Man-At-Arms (Idris Elba), and embrace his true destiny as He-Man — the most powerful man in the universe.
Now there is something special to me me about that Dolph Lundgren film. I love it. Even though, admittedly, it is not a great film. I wasn't sure what to expect with Travis Knight's film, but Masters of the Universe is a spectacle.
The colors are just like you saw in the TV series as well as the action. Than what makes this film even better is the characters you loved are in this film. He-Man, Teela, Man-At-Arms, Skeletor, Evil-lyn, Beast-Man, Fisto, Ram-Man, Meckaneck, Trap-Jaw, the Sorceress, BattleCat and more.
Is this film perfect? No! But is it a fun adventure? You betcha!
Masters of the Universe has been transferred to 4K in 2160p and is presented in 2.39:1 aspect ratio. The audio tracks include an English Dolby Atmos TrueHD, a DTS-HD Master Audio, and Dolby Digital tracks in French, Spanish, Dutch, Japanese and Italian.
This 4K transfer is out of this world good. The film is crisp and clean with absolutely no signs of digital artifacts or audio anomalies. In addition to the wonderful-looking film transfer, the 4k offers the following bons features
* Behind-The Scenes Promotional Gallery (Under 15 minutes total)
Rebirth of a Hero
Heroes of Eternia
Forces of Evil
Constructing Eternia
Who is He-Man
The Sword of Power
Director Travis Knight: The Master of MOTU
Becoming He-Man
Forging the Sword of Power
Rebirth of a Franchise
Teela's Training
Creature Feature
* Masters of Light Skies of Eternia Drone Spectacular (3-minute featurette)
The bonus features are a bit disappointing. After waiting almost 40 years. We should have gotten a bit more bonus features. Maybe an additional Blu-ray disc or a digital copy. Something like this would have taken this release to even bigger heights.
If you love He-Man and the Master of the Universe, you need to experience this new live-action film if you haven't already. And the perfect way to do it is with this 4K UltraHD release. If you want to add Masters of the Universe on 4k to your home video library head over to Amazon and order your copy today.
Out of 4 film reels (4 being the best) the 4K UltraHD of Masters of the Universe receives.....
