We have really been enjoying reliving the classic TV show Alice thanks to the great folks at Warner Archive. If you haven't already check out our reviews of Season 1 and Season 2.

The premise of this show is pretty simple. Alice Hyatt is a widow and single mom, who moves to Arizona for a fresh start. She has big dreams of being a singer. But as with all dreams we have to survive while we try to make those dreams a reality. Alice is no different. She must work at Mel's Diner as a waitress while she waits for her big break to happen.

In season 3 all the gang is here, Alice, Flo, Vera, Tommy and yes the always hotheaded, but underneath teddy bear like Mel. But that is not all there are some special guest stars appear, including; Nancy McKeon (Jo on TV's Facts of Life and Tommy's real life sister), Corry Feldman (Stand by Me), Forest Tucker (F Troop), Hans Conried, Martha Raye, James Cromwell and Joyce Bulifant just to name a few.

I have to say that in my opinion
season 3 is where the show really found it's stride. Everyone knows their characters and really brings them to life. The chemistry with the cast brings a seamlessness to the show. It almost feels like you are looking in on a real diner and real people. That is the best compliment that any show can get.

This DVD set houses all 24 episodes on 3 DVDs. The episodes have been transferred in their original full screen format and in 1.37:1 aspect ratio. I ran a bitrate test as I have on previous sets, and just like previous sets on the high end these episodes run from between 7 and 8 Mbps. So these episode have a great bitrate. While there is some slight differences the video quality in these episodes, none are unwatchable.

Alice could easily be forgotten with the passing of time. But
Warner Archive is making sure this show loves on for more generations to discover this gem of the late 70's. These made-on-demand DVDs are the highest of quality and you will have nothing but hours of enjoyment out of these.
