Festival of Fright (DVD Review)

This is the month that many wait all year for. On Halloween night friends gather together and have parties, eat food and enjoy scary films. Well, the Good folks at Synergy Entertainment just made the Halloween parties a little bit easier with their release Festival of Fright.

The 2 Disc set includes a DVD filled with 39 classic sci-fi and horror trailers and the CD is filled with eerie music that will set the perfect mood for any Halloween party.

Let's be honest here, sometimes the trailers of these old films are better than the films themselves. The trailers included in this collection run the gambit from classic horror to comedic scifi. The trailers are presented in their original full screen format. They are not HD quality but the weathered look is what give these trailers their charm to me. Also included in the DVD is the audio option to play the trailers with scary music instead of the dialogue. That is a very cool feature for parties.

As for the CD the 8 track CD features atmospheric background music that would be perfect on a loop for your Halloween party.

This release is not for everyone. But it would make a great viewing experience on a big screen in the background of anyone's Halloween Party.
