the beauties of space and our planet with this IMAX documentary on 4K from Mill Creek Entertainment.

A Beautiful Planet is a 2016 American documentary film that explored Earth through the adventures astronauts over the course of fifteen months aboard the International Space Station. The film also examines some of the daily experiences of the astronauts who represent the respective space agencies for the United States, Russia, Europe, and Japan. The film is also narrated by the Academy Award winning actress Jennifer Lawrence. She has called this film "a love letter to Earth."

This documentary looks and sounds absolutely stunning. There are truly no world to describe the depth and the sharpness of the picture quality of the imagery caught on the IMAX cameras. The pictures taken from the ISS show us beautiful sights of our planet including the southern lights. It is truly an awesome experience. Jennifer Lawrence also does a great job taking us on this journey. The music is an amazing accompaniment to this journey in space. This film gives us a great insight to the discipline it takes to be an astronaut.

Now for the actual discs. On the 4K disc the film is presented in 2160p Ultra High Definition HDR10 (1.78:1) and audio in DTS-X Master Audio 5.1. On the Blu-ray disc 1080p High Definition (1.78:1) and audio in DTS-X Master Audio 5.1. The 4K looks phenomenal and even the blu-ray looks incredible.
