The film follows 48 year old, Manhattan restaurateur Will Keane (Gere) a confirmed bachelor and consummate playboy. He has perfected the art of casual romance, that is until he meets Charlotte Fielding (Winona Ryder). He thought he would spend one night with the over half his age young lady and than that would be it. He would move on to the next lady, but little did he know he would fall for the charming young woman, even though she is living on borrowed time.
The film hits all the right notes for me. There is fun, heart and real emotional drama. The acting of Richard Gere, Winona Ryder, and the supporting cast is really good. The emotion come through on the screen and by the time I got to the end I was so invested in the characters that you truly care what happened to them.
This is a very adult film! With adult themes, some sexual content, no nudity and some profanity! But the story is very good one. It moves along nicely and worth a watch for anyone who is a fan of Richard Gere or Winona Ryder.
This is the first time Autumn in New York has been available on blu-ray and what a a release it is! The film is presented in 2:40:1 aspect ratio and 2.0 stereo. It looks and sound gorgeous. The bonus features include, a photo gallery and trailers of other MVD Marquee Collection.
