The Best of Big Time Wrestling Volume 2 (2017) {DVD Review}

Reviewed By Jason S. Lockard

Portland Wrestling had many larger than life wrestlers. The interviews were loud and the matches were exciting! Big Time Wrestling was their TV program and it was a must watch back in the day for those living in Portland! In 2016 Jadat Sports released Volume 1 of the Best of Big time Wrestling! Now it's time for Volume 2 to roll out more wrestling action for old school wrestling fanatics!

The Best of Big time Wrestling Volume 2 features many of the regional stars such as Doug Sommers, "Playboy" Buddy Rose, Dr. D. David Schultz and many more. Also in this collection is legends such as Harley Race, Roddy Piper, Rick Martel, Stan Stasiak and Rocky Johnson (father of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson). The matches in this collection include;
(Matches are rated from 1 to 4 *)

Mondo Guerrero -vs- Cuban Assassin ***
Jay Strongbow -vs- Doug Sommers **
Tarzan White -vs- Scott Doring **
Avalanche -vs- Mike Miller **
Stoney Burke -vs- Tama Samoa **
Rocky Johnson -vs- Stan Stasiak ***
Jesse Barr -vs- Roddy Piper ***
David Schultz -vs- Buddy Rose ***
David Schultz -vs- Buddy Rose (Cage Match) ***
Harley Race -vs- Rick Martel (2 out of 3 falls NWA World title match) ****

The audio and video quality of the matches and promos in this collection does vary between and good and not-so-good. But the stories told in this collection are pretty riveting keeping your interest to the very end! And what an end it was! Talk about ending on a high note! A NWA Worlds title match! 2 out of 3 falls match featuring champion Harley Race and a young Rick Martel!

I have to be honest the packaging is a little bit of a misrepresentation! On the cover was The Shiek yet The Legend is not in this collection! Also on the back listed many 17 legendary wrestlers yet only 2 were in this collection! That all being said this is an entertainment collection and I recommend it to true wrestling fans.
