Adaptions are a hard thing to get right! Whether it's adapting a book to film or a film to book! Most of the time people will say, "The original media was better!" IDW Publishing has adapted one of the biggest films in recent years; Star Wars Rogue One, into a comic book! But is it good? That's the million dollar question!
The first thing you see when you open this book is an introduction to all the major characters of the story. I love this! We get a glimpse into the characters we will soon fall in love with!
The story itself follows a groups of rebels whose scheme is to procure the plans for The Evil Empire's greatest weapon, known as The Death Star. This is the film that bridges the gap between Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars IV: A New Hope.
This book is 80 pages long and I know what everyone reading this is thinking! How in the world do they pack all that action from a over 2 hour film into 80 pages. Well, simple answer is some scenes were cut from the book adaption! That is a necessary thing to do! But the meat of the story is there. You really don't miss anything of importance!
The adaption was written by Alessandro Ferrari and is a masterful job. Than there is the vibrant artwork that has an ultra cool anime feel to it! The artists should be commended on the great job they did bringing these characters from the big screen to the pages of this graphic novel!
This book is such a page turner you can have it finished in no time flat! So if your a fan of Star Wars this is an absolute must add to your collection! Head over to www.IDWPublishing.com or your local comic book provider and get your copy today!
