The Sherlock Homes Vault Collection {Film Detective Blu-ray Review}

Arguably the greatest detective in all of literature, radio, TV and cinema history was Sherlock Holmes with his faithful companion Dr. Watson. So many exciting adventures were penned by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. And many amazing actors have taken on the name of the great Holmes.   

"The game is now afoot" thanks to the fine folks at The Film Detective. They have released an absolutely stunning new Blu-ray set of early classic tales of Sherlock Holmes complete with a nice collection of bonus feature.

Sherlock Holmes' Fatal Hour (1931)
Sherlock Holmes (Arthur Wontner) and Dr. Watson (Ian Fleming) are charged with the protection of a young diplomat from a criminal mastermind Professor Robert Moriarty. ***

A Study in Scarlett (1933)
Members of a secret society are turning up dead. It is up to Sherlock Holmes (Reginald Owens) and Dr. Watson (Warburton Gamble) to uncover the truth behind the murders. ***

The Triumph of Sherlock Holmes (1935) An American organization asks the evil Professor Moriarty to take vengeance on John Douglas, an informant who sent them to prison. Now it is up to Sherlock 
Holmes (Arthur Wontner) and Dr. Watson (Ian Fleming) to come out of retirement to investigate the crime. ***

Silver Blaze (1937)
Sherlock Holmes (Arthur Wontner) and Dr. Watson (Ian Fleming) investigate the theft of a prize racehorse theft. But they soon find someone very familiar behind the crime. ****

All four of these classic mysteries have been transferred in 1080p in their original full screen format 1.33:1 aspect ratio. The soundtrack is an Dolby Digital Audio 2.0 There is also English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Each of the four Blu-ray discs included in this stellar set not only includes a newly remaster version of the film, but some very cool bonus features. Take a look at what is included in this set.

In addition to the amazing on disc features on disc features. Included in each Blu-ray case is a
card insert with the original pastor art. This is such a cool addition to this set. Than all three Blu-rays are housed in a special black and gold slipcase, suitable for displaying!  



I am so excited to see how beautiful these films look restored and all the amazing bonus features make this truly The Film Detective's greatest release to date. I am glad to have this film at Classic Cinema Plus studios. It will be getting displayed in a place of prominence.
