Foghat Slow Ride - Live In Concert (1999) Blu-ray Review

When you think of British rock bands most would think The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin. Probably a band that wouldn't be on anyone's list would be Foghat! Foghat are an English rock band formed in London in 1971.

Now while they may not be iconic as the above listed bands, Foghat did achieve eight gold albums, one platinum and one double platinum album. Over the decades there have been many changes to the band's line-up, but they continue to record and perform.

Cleopatra Entertainment and MVD Visual have joined forces to release a Blu-ray featuring a concert recorded in 1999. So, for the 25th anniversary of this concert. Foghat Slow Ride is now in HD!

Slow Ride: Live in Concert gives us undistilled Foghat, recorded and filmed live over two months in Texas in 1999, shortly before frontman Dave Peverett's premature death at the age of 56. The power and drive of these classic songs come ringing through and are a celebration of Foghat's vision and talent, many years since the band exploded onto the world in 1970.

This is a very fun little concert event. It ran for just under 80 minutes. The energy Foghat brought to this concert is simply amazing. But even more than just a fun little concert, Foghat 'Slow Ride' was recorded live in Texas in 1999. This is a legendary concert. What makes this legendary? This concert was just before Lonesome Dave Peverett's death in 2000 at the age of 56.

In this concert event features 10 amazing songs including, "Fool For The City", "Stone Blue" and "Slow Ride".

This concert has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p in widescreen format. The audio is a Dolby Digital 2.0 Now this concert looks and sounds amazing on Blu-ray in HD. But this is not the only way you can own this concert event. MVD Visual and Cleopatra Entertainment not only released this concert on Blu-ray, but also on a DVD/CD combo. Too Cool!

If there is one thing that I would have against this release, it would be the lack of bonus features! I would have loved to see some interviews about Dave Peverett. How much he meant to the band. That would have amped up this release! But it is still a extremely cool release!
