As we are now looking at the 16th anniversary of this film's release, I was given the opportunity to review this film on Blu-ray featuring both the theatrical and the Unrated Extended Cut of this film. As a fan of the original TV series, and never seen this film before. (I know that's terrible) I had a real morbid curiosity to see this Blu-ray.
Synopsis: Buckle up for an adrenaline-fueled thrill ride starring Liam Neeson, Bradley Cooper, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and Sharlto Copley. Convicted by a military court for a crime they didn't commit, a daring team of former Special Forces soldiers must utilize their unique talents to break out of prison and tackle their toughest mission yet. It's going to take guts, split-second timing and an arsenal of explosive weapons...this is a job for The A-Team!
The A-Team tv series had iconic actors bringing these characters to life. So you were going to need just such actors. Enter Liam Neeson. He has proved himself to be an action star...check. Bradley Cooper has range to play action and comedy... check. But who could step into Mr. T's huge shoes? Enter Quinton "Rampage" Jackson. What? I was skeptical!
The A Team Movie moves from the Vietnam era to the Gulf War era. The action is hot and heavy and the acting is good. Even Rampage Jackson was good as B.A. Baracus, but he could still never fill the shoes of Mr. T! But all in all this was a fun popcorn movie. And after all, that is what you are looking for.
The A Team has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in 2.35:1 aspect ratio. There are audio options of an English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track and a Spanish or French language track in Dolby Digital 5.1. There is also subtitles in English and Spanish.
The A Team looks crisp and clean in HD. There is no digital artifacts or audio anomalies. The colors are bright and vibrant and the flesh tones are correct. This is truly a wonderful-looking Blu-ray transfer. And with this Blu-ray there are some great bonus features as well.

Okay, The A-Team movie is not The A-Team series. The TV series had a lot of comedy banter that made that series so much fun. While this movie tries, it goes more for straight action. And for people who love that, this is going to be right up their alley. Just don't expect the TV Series in movie format.
