In 2025, director Linus O'Brien made a film that delved deep into the story of Rocky Horror entitled Strange Journey. Now Alliance Entertainment has released this documentary on Blu-ray, so that fans can enjoy the epic story of what it took to make this film.

This film tracks The Rocky Horror Picture Show from its origins on the London stage to its evolution to a film experience like no other. The film combines archival footage and interviews with surviving cast members, including Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, Patricia Quinn, and Nell Campbell, as well as celebrity fans like Jack Black and RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Trixie Mattel. It is a wonderfully produced documentary!
The film has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in 1.85:1 aspect ratio. The audio track is an English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. There is also the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
This transfer is crisp and clean. Now, granted, some of the archival footage used is not as great a quality as the new footage, but that is to be expected. Now of course, for me the thing that makes physical media so much better than streaming is the bonus features. Well, on this Blu-ray there are none. That is a huge disappointment.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show is truly a fan favorite. Not a film everyone loves but it does have a huge cult following. And if you do love the film and own it on physical media, well, this new Blu-ray would make a great companion piece.
