Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines: The Complete Series Blu-ray Review | Warner Archive Brings the Classic Hanna-Barbera Cartoon to HD

As a kid I remember watching Wacky Races with my mom. It was a special time and it remains a great memory from my childhood. So, when Warner Archive Collection released Wacky Races on Blu-ray I was excited.

I like many people my favorite character wa Dick Dastardly and Muttley. Well, not surprisingly after Wacky Races ended Dick Dastardly and Muttley would get their own series. And now after long last Warner Archive have released this spin off series on Blu-ray. 

Synopsis: Dick Dastardly and his snickering canine co-pilot Muttley plot to "stop that pigeon" aboard their World War I flying machines in this popular Hanna-Barbera spin-off of Wacky Races featuring the vocal talents of Paul Winchell and Don Messick. When muttering Muttley decides he's had enough, he flies off into his own fantasy world where he gets to be the boss for a change!

Hanna-Barbera went and reinvented the wheel if you will with this new series. Instead of races in automobils this series would see races in the ski instead. That was a fresh take. I think just like Wacky Races there is only so many times you can watch crazy races. So this series would only last 17 episodes, but they are 17 hilarious episodes.

Warner Archive Collection had teansferred this series to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in 1.33:1 aspect ratio. The audio track is an English DTS-HD MA 2.0 MONO. There is also the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearinh.

These transfer are sourced from new 4k scans of this series and these cartoons look crisp and clean and the colors are bright and vibrant. Simply gorgeous looking episodes now in HD. But Warner Archive added some cool bonus features as well. Take a look at what is included.

The addition of these featurettes and the commentaries enhance the collectabibly of this Blu-ray. Could their have been more bonus features? Yes! But there is bonuses and after all that ius truly all tha mastters.
