Gable and Crawford are together one final time in Strange Cargo now on Blu-ray

Joan Crawford and Clark Gable are Hollywood Legends. But their paths crossed many times on the big screen. Eight times to be exact. Dance, Fools, Dance (1931), Possessed (1931), Dancing Lady (1933), Love on the Run (1936), The Last of Mrs. Cheyney (1937), The Bride Wore Red (1937), The Shining Hour (1938) and than their final time sharing the silver screen was in Strange Cargo (1940).

Now Warner Archive Collection have chosen Strange Cargo to restore and transfer to Blu-ray for the first time ever. And in addition, they added some cool bonus features. Let's take a look at this classic drama.

Synopsis: Through impenetrable jungles. Across perilous swamps. Desperate for a second chance at life, a band of Devil's Island felons and a tough-as-nails prostitute struggle toward freedom. Film giants Clark Gable and Joan Crawford team for the eighth and last time in this gripping story that explores the lures of the flesh and the transcendence of the spirit. Fighting each other and the elements, the stars imbue this provocative adventure with audacity, power and passion.

Strange Cargo is a really good melodrama that boasts of a spectacular cast. Gable and Crawford are spectacular as always. Plus the supporting cast is jus as great. Particularly the performance by Peter Lorre. The film's story and cinematography takes the audience on a tense and emotional ride that they will never forget.

Warner Archive Collection has transferred Strange Cargo to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in 1.37:1 aspect ratio. The audio track is an English DTS-HD MA 2.0 Mono. There is also the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Strange Cargo on Blu-ray features another simply stunning restoration by Warner Archive Collection. The Black and White picture is crisp as a new $100 bill. The blacks are inky and the whites a bright. Really making for a great viewing experience.

In addition to a great looking new restoration. Warner Archive added some cool bonus features to this release. Take a look at what is included on this Blu-ray disc.
