Nirvanna The Band The Show The Movie: Blu-ray +DVD Review

In 2007 Canadian duo Matt Johnson and Jay McCarrol created a comedy web series entitled Nirvanna The Band The Show. Then, in 2017 Viceland would greenlight this show to be a full-length series. Two seasons would be produced before it was cancelled.

Fans hold this series in such high regard that almost a decade after it ended, viewers were clamoring for more. In 2025 Matt Johnson and Jay McCarrol finally came through with one final plan, a movie. Nirvanna The Band The Show The Movie. Now this film is coming home to physical media on Blu-ray/DVD combo pack.

Synopsis: After a series of misadventures, lifelong friends Matt and Jay continue their quest to book a gig at legendary venue, the Rivoli. This time, something goes horribly wrong and they accidentally travel back in time to the year 2008.

This movie is extremely entertaining. And you might think you would have to have seen the web series or Viceland series to enjoy this movie, well you would be wrong. This is really a standalone film. And an ultra fun time travel movie. Definitely a must-see film.

Neon has transferred this film to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in 1.78:1 Widescreen format. The audio tracks are an English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 (Descriptive Video Service). There is also the option for subtitles in English SDH, French, and Spanish.

The film transfer is pretty impressive. The picture is crisp and clean, and the audio is clear. There are no signs of digital artifacts or audio anomalies. In addition to a nice film transfer Neon Home Video added some nice bonus features to this Blu-ray. Take a look at what is included.
