Artificial Intelligence is truly a double-edged sword. There are some good things about it, but there are some really scary things about it as well. Some people like to use it, and others feel it should be banned. No matter where you land, there is no denying AI is here to stay.
In 2025, the film Mercy was produced by MGM/Amazon. This film is about the future and how AI could be a part of our lives more than any of us ever dreamed. This thriller is now arriving on Blu-ray, so fans of dystopian future films and physical media fans can add this 4k UltraHD to their home video libraries.
Synopsis: In the near future, a detective (Chris Pratt) stands on trial accused of murdering his wife. He has 90 minutes to prove his innocence to the advanced A.I. Judge (Rebecca Ferguson) he once championed, before it determined his fate.
Chris Pratt is really good in this film, even though he spends the majority of the film just sitting in front of a camera. And Rebecca Ferguson is eerie as the A.I. Judge. This film has a real fugitive feel to it. And that is a truly good thing, as I love the TV Series and film The Fugitive.
Mercy has been transferred to Blu-ray in 2160p and is presented in widescreen format. The audio options are an English Digital Atmos track and a French, French Canadian, Dutch, Japanese and Spanish DTS-HD Master Audio. There is also an English descriptive track. Finally, there is the option for subtitles in English, French, French Canadian, Dutch, Japanese, Nederlands and Spanish.
The film is crisp and clean. There are no signs of digital artifacts or audio anomalies. As for bonus features. There are none. That is a huge disappointment. I would love to have seen an audio commentary, behind the scenes featurettes or interviews. But this disc received none of that.
If you love dystopian future thrillers, this new film Mercy, on Blu-ray, might just be what you are looking for as your next escape. Head over to Amazon and order your copy of Mercy today.
Out of 4 film reels (4 being the best) the 4k UltraHD of Mercy receives.....
