The next Hannah-Barbera cartoon to get a Blu-ray release is Wally Gator. Now Wally Gator was part of the 1962-63 syndicated series entitled The New Hanna-Barbera Cartoon Series.
Synopsis: A true people-person alligator, Wally is driven by his excessive curiosity and his bon vivant inclinations to seek out new experiences beyond the city zoo where he hangs his porkpie hat. Donning a variety of hilarious disguises, Wally escapes the care of dedicated zookeeper Twiddle only to end up crying "Oh, fuddle-dee-doo!" as he lands himself in a series of ever more ridiculous (and dangerous!) jams!
Wally Gator is a Hanna-Barbera proven formula. This formula has been seen in such cartoons like Yogi Bear and Magilla Gorilla. Wally Gator is brought to life by the incredible voice actor Daws Butler. He brought other amazing cartoon characters to life including: Yogi Bear, Huckleberry Hound, Snagglepuss, Quick Draw McGraw, Dixie and Mr. Jinks, Lippy the Lion, and Elroy Jetson just to name a few.
Warner Archive Collection have restored and transferred Wally Gator to Blu-ray in 1080p and they are presented in 1.33:1. The audio track is a DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0. Finally, there is the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard or hearing.
Warner Archive's restoration of this cartoon is simply spectacular. Watching Wally Gator on Blu-ray is a pleasure. Hanna-Barbera's classic animation really benefits from the restoration. All 52 cartoons are spread across two Blu-ray discs.

A total of 52 wonderful cartoons on 2 Blu-ray discs is a great bang for your buck. But I must be honest. I would have liked to see some bonus features. Some interviews, a retrospective or some featurettes would have made this great Blu-ray that much better!
The New Hanna-Barbera Cartoon Series consisted of Wally Gator, Touché Turtle and Dum Dum and Lippy the Lion and Hardy Har Har. Earlier this year we saw Touché Turtle and Dum Dum arrive on Blu-ray. Now Wally Gator has come home to Blu-ray.
