Friendship (2025) Blu-ray Review – Tim Robinson & Paul Rudd’s Dark Comedy in High-Definition

Tim Robinson burst on the tv scene as a writer and performer on Saturday Night Live from 2012 to 2016. After his time on SNL he co-created, co-wrote, and starred in the comedy series Detroiters (2017–2018). Recently in 2024 he starred in the black comedy Friendship.

A24 Films released an unforgettable horror film Bring Her Back on Blu-ray. Now it's time for a bit of a change with a Blu-ray release of Friendship.

Synopsis: Suburban dad Craig falls hard for his charismatic new neighbor, as Craig’s attempts to make an adult male friend threaten to ruin both of their lives.

Friendship really is trying to tap into "The Cable Guy". Now let's be honest that film is legendary! And those are big shoes to try to fill! Now Friendship features some amusing scenes, but the film itself struggles to come together and be hilarious throughout. Tim Robinson's reactions and facial expressions are very funny. But I felt that Paul Rudd is criminally underused in this film.

Friendship has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in 1.66:1 aspect ratio. The audio track is an English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. There is also the option for subtitles in English and Spanish.

This Blu-ray transfer is tremendous. The picture is crisp and clean, and the audio is clear. There are no signs of digital artifacts or audio anomalies. In addition to a good-looking digital transfer. This Blu-ray has additional bonus features. Look what is included.

* Audio commentary by Andrew DeYoung, Andy Rydzewski, and Conner O’Malley
* Deleted and Extended scenes
* “Men Talking In The Dark” extended Q&A with Tim Robinson, Paul Rudd, Andrew DeYoung, and Eric Rahill.
* 6 Collectable postcards with behind the scene photography

I really wanted to love this film. And while I was mildly entertained, I feel it doesn't quite live up to its potential. I appreciate that this Blu-ray release has included the additional scenes and the Q&A and the audio commentary. These additions give this Blu-ray more value!

So, if you enjoy the comedy of Tim Robinson, you might enjoy Friendship. If you would like a copy of this Blu-ray you can order a copy for yourself or a friend at Amazon today!

Out of 4 Film Reels (4 being the best) the Blu-ray release of Friendship receives.....
