Bride Hard Blu-ray Review – Action-Comedy Starring Rebel Wilson

When you think mash-up movies there are several films that come to mind! Little Shop of Horrors, From Dusk till Dawn, Ghostbusters, Shaun of the Dead and The Matrix.

Director Simon West, (known for his films, Con Air, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, The Mechanic, The Expendables 2, The General's Daughter and When a Stranger Calls) brought his own mashup film to theaters with Bride Hard! Now available on Blu-ray.

Synopsis: When a mercenary group takes a lavish wedding hostage, they have no idea what they are in for as the Maid of Honor is actually a secret agent ready to rain hell-fire upon anyone who would ruin her best friend's wedding.

As the title suggest you know what this mashup is going in to this film. It is Bridesmaids meet Die Hard! Okay it is an interesting mashup idea. But somehow seems to miss the mark on the jokes. The film is not great, but it does have it's moments. it was just not quite be as entertaining as was hoped for.

Rebel Wilson puts everything into her role but for me the comedy for the most part just falls flat. It was cool however seeing Justin Hartley. I remember his performance Oliver Queen aka Green Arrow in one of my favorite DC Comics shows Smallville!

Bride Hard has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in widescreen format in 1.78:1 aspect ratio. As for the audio options there is an English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and a 2.0. There is also the option for English Subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Now for most physical media fan what is the best part of physical media is the bonus features. Well, I am sad to say this Blu-ray is a bare bones release.

Now while Bride Hard may not have been my cup of tea. I am sure there will be some people that enjoy those bad mashup films that will find its way on their list of must have movies. And if you are one of those people, by all means enjoy.

You can order a copy of Bride Hard on Blu-ray today by heading over to Amazon.

Out of 4 film reels (4 being the best) the Blu-ray release of Bride Hard receives....
