Now you can stream Frasier on Paramount+ but if you are a physical media like me you waited for the DVD release. Well, CBS and Paramount released Frasier Season 1 on DVD. But now it was time for the second season. And now we have to wait no longer as season two has come to DVD.
Synopsis: Frasier Crane (Grammer) is on to his next chapter of his life after he returns to Boston to face new challenges, forge new relationships and—with hope— finally fulfill an old dream or two. FRASIER’s sophomore season will see Dr. Frasier Crane return to his radio roots at KACL in a Seattle-themed episode.
Frasier really seemed to hit its stride in Season 2. The characters were really gaining their legs and the stories were better. And the addition of new stars including Patricia Heaton (TV's Everybody Loves Raymond) really lifted the show. That is why it is so disappointing that Paramount+ cancelled the show after this season.
While this is disappointing there is a glimmer of hope as Paramount is shopping around for another streaming service to take over the production and keep the series alive. But don't get your hope up top much as switching streaming services is a huge obstacle to overcome.
Season 2 of Frasier has been released on 2-disc DVD Set. All 10 season 2 episodes are collected here.
Disc 1: Ham / Cyrano, Cyrano / All About Eve / The Dedication / The Squash Courtship of Freddy's Father
Disc 2: Cape Cod / My Brilliant Sister / Thank You, Dr. Crane / Murder Most Finch / Father Christmas
These episodes are presented in widescreen format, and the audio is a Dolby Digital track. There is also the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing. These episodes are crisp and clean with no digital artifacts and the audio is clear with no audio anomalies.
As for bonus features! On disc one there is a one minute deleted scene on the episode "The Squash Courtship of Freddy's Father" and on disc two there is a two minute deleted scene on the episode "Father Christmas" and an almost 5 minute gag reel.
So many times these revival series just don't work. I am so glad to say that Frasier works and works well. Streaming is great and all, but you can't beat physical media for the picture quality and the bonus features. I am so glad to add the first and second season DVD to the original series in my library.
