There have been tons of news surrounding Vince McMahon over the last year or so. McMahon sold the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) to Endeavor who owns UFC and joined the companies together to make TKO.
With the Purchase Vince still had a good portion of the shares of the company. Slowly TKO began to remove Vince from the company with Vince selling the stock a little at a time. Vince McMahon resigned from WWE and TKO after being sued by former WWE employee Janel Grant for sexual assault and sex trafficking.
Now just recently Vince McMahon registered his remaining shares of TKO for sale. Once these stocks are sold the company that was his grandfather's his father's and ultimately his for over 70 years is no longer owned in any way shape or form by a McMahon. The is hard to believe!
There is some belief within the wrestling industry that with Vince selling all this stock and if the impeding legal trouble goes away that Vince could launch a new wrestling company. Now some may think, "He can't legally do this!" But they would be wrong from a legal standpoint, McMahon has a one-year non-compete clause with WWE that ends in January 2025.
The launch of a new company would be a great thing for wrestlers giving them more places to work. But McMahon's reputation has suffered. A TV deal for the new company would be hard to secure, he might have to do a streaming service. Which in this day and age is better for most. As everybody loves the idea of stream your favorite show on your time.
McMahon's possible new company would have an uphill battle. Let's be honest they would not be competition for AEW or WWE. But the company could easily be a number 3 company, eclipsing TNA Wrestling and NWA Wrestling. Only time will tell if this happens. But first McMahon must clear up his legal issues.
It is going to be an interesting year stay tuned.
