Animal Crackers (2017) Blu-ray Review

Animated movies are big business. Not only do kids love them, but adults do as well! That's why there are so many made all the time. From Disney to Pixar to DreamWorks and beyond. Massive amounts of animated films are made every year.

In 2017 Blue Dream Studios produced a computer animated family feature entitled Animal Crackers. After being on Netflix for quite a while. The film received a digital release earlier this year. And now for physical media fans it is time for a Blu-ray release! 

Animal Crackers tells the story of a family who comes across a box of magical animal crackers that turns anyone that consumes a cracker into the animal that the cracker represents which comes in handy in saving the circus that the family was associated with.

Animal Crackers is a fast-paced comedy that will keep the kids and adults entertained. The story is amazing taking something so innocent as everyone's favorite animal crackers and making them magical! Too Cool! The animation is budgeted but is still a lot better than some films I've seen. 

The voices in this film will be very familiar. Animal Crackers boast of an all-star voice cast that includes, Emily Blunt (Oppenheimer), John Krasinski (Next Gen), Ian McKellen (X-Men Days of Future Past), Danny DeVito (Taxi, Throw Mama from the Train), Raven-Symone (That's So Raven), and Sylvester Stallone (Rocky, Rambo).

The film has been transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p. The film is presented in widescreen format. The audio is a DTS-HD Master Audio 20. There are also English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

The film looks and sounds crisp and clean on Blu-ray. But sadly, there is no bonus features. It would have been nice to see some bonuses like, the trailer or making of featurette. But in the end, it is cool to see the film get a home video release none the less. 

I must say that I found myself thoroughly entertained with the story. And I was transported into the world of this animation. And in the end isn't that all you can really ask for in a film? While not the level of Pixar animation it is still a highly enjoyable film!
