So last year 2022 Pinnacle Peak Pictures produced a family faith-based drama about an angel that no one would expect to be one. The film is entitled An Unlikely Angel. And now physical media fans can bring this film home on DVD thanks to Mill Creek Entertainment.
Janie Caswell (Jillian Murray) has it all a successful career, a loving marriage and she is pregnant with a little girl. But her whole life goes out of control when she is in a horrible auto accident. When she wakes-up from a coma six years later, she finds here life is changed and not for what she would consider the better. But in all the chaos of her new life, she has an angle named Gabe was sent to watch over her.
An Unlikely Angel is a heart wrenching, heartbreaking, but yet inspiring film of love and hope that brings the viewer on the rollercoaster ride of emotion. The acting is very believable. And it is so cool to see Sam J. Jones (Flash Gordon) in this film. And the music is such a great addition to this film.
One problem with faith-based films is that they can be overly preachy. Sometimes the faith message can be so heavy that it feels like a sledge hammer over the head. Well, I am glad to say that An Unlikely Angel is not like that at all!
An Unlikely Angel has been transferred to DVD in widescreen format and in Dolby Digital audio. When watching this film there is no signs of damage or digital artifacts. The picture is crisp and clean and the audio is clear. This is a really nice looking transfer. One of the downsides of this release is there is no bonus features.
An Unlikely Angel shows that as long as there is life there is time to make changes for the better. Second Chances are one of the blessings of life. I really enjoyed this film so much and I can not help but recommend it!
