Tentacles (1977) {KL Studio Classics Blu-ray Review}

Reviewed by Jason Lockard

In 1975 the horror movie world changed forever with a tale of horror in the deep when Jaws appeared in theaters. The success of that film would cause other filmmakers to explore the deep in other ways.

So in 1977 Samuel Z. Arkoff known for producing such films as like Blackula, The Abominable Dr. Phibes and The Town that dreaded sundown, brought us a horror films from beneath the sea entitled Tentacles. Over the year this film has gained cult status. Now the good folks at KL Studio Classics have released this film on Blu-ray!

After several people disappear and at sea. When their bodies are found all that is left is the skeletons and even the marrow is missing. Scientists are baffled
 as to what kind of animal could do such things. Dr. Turner accuses the company that built a tunnel beneath the bay to have poisoned the environment and caused an octopus to mutate to giant dimensions. It's a race against time to try to survive.

Tentacles is 70s B Movies goodness. The story is a faced-paced action adventure film, that will have B movie fans on the edge of their seats. What makes this films so much better is the star power. Included in this movie is
John Huston (The Maltese Falcon), Shelley Winters (The Night of the Hunter), Henry Fonda (On Golden Pond), Bo Hopkins (American Graffiti), Claude Akins (Movin' On), Delia Boccardo (Hercules) and Cesar Danova (National Lampoon's Animal House).

The film has been transferred in 1080p in 2.35:1 aspect ratio the audio is a DTS-HD Master Aduip 2.0. The film looks and sounds amazing in HD. The picture is crisp and the colors are vibrant. This really is a nice looking transfer.
