The Jeffersons Seasons 1 and 2

Reviewed By Jason S. Lockard

The first two hilarious seasons of one of the most groundbreaking longest-running sitcoms in television history. The sitcom that won two Emmys, was nominated for another 11 Emmys® and 8 Golden Globes® is on a combo pack DVD set. It is brought to us by the good folks at Mill Creek Entertainment. That’s right the first and second seasons of The Jeffersons.

The Jeffersons first appeared on the small screen as part of the controversial series All in the family. Than the jive-talkin’, dry-cleaning king George Jefferson made it big and moved to his “deluxe apartment in the sky” with his wife “Weezy”, acid-tongued matriarch Mother Jefferson and his son Lionel. There they would meet a host of crazy neighbors. Tom and Helen Willis, the parents of Jenny, Lionel's girlfriend. Mr. Bentley the eccentric Englishman. The doorman who always has his hand out for a tip, Ralph and last but certainly not least, Florance the maid who keep up with George's insults jab for jab.

Some of the best episodes in these two seasons include; George’s family tree: George takes interest in his heritage when he discovers some of his family may have been in a tribe of kings. Mother Jefferson’s fall: George’s mother fakes a fall to get attention. Uncle Bertram: Mother Jefferson starts dating Uncle Bertram, a white man related to the Willises. Movin’ on down: With Lionel wanting more money and Florence the maid wanting a raise; George is afraid that he is about to go out of business.

The two seasons brought us 37 hilarious and sometimes controversial episodes on 3 discs. Each episode is presented in full frame and really good audio and video quality. The DVD menu is easy to access.

You can buy these seasons in season 1 and 2 separate collection or the awesome combo pack. I highly suggest you head over to www.MillCreekEnt.com and pick up a copy today of this sitcom classic!
