Every generation has its versions of the "teen film". In the late 90s it was Can't hardly wait. It is hard to believe that this is the 20 year anniversary of the release of this film. How time flies.
Can't hardly wait was released on June 12, 1998. So in celebration of the the 20 year anniversary, Mill Creek Entertainment has released a special "20 year reunion edition" on Blu-ray.
The film follows the graduating class of Huntington Hills High School. They are celebrating with a party at a large house owned by a rich class member's family. Among
the attendees are Preston Meyers, who plans to proclaim his love to his
secret crush
Amanda Beckett. The popular Amanda was recently been dumped by jock Mike Dexter. In turn Mike is being targeted by nerd classmate William Lichter and his buddies, who are plotting revenge against him for years of bullying. There is also minor story including Kenny Fisher known as Special K a white boy would-be rapper who wants to loose his virginity. This is just some of the story lines in this comedy adventure!
With so many different storylines going on the waters can become muddy, you can loose track of what is going on. But the screenplay is actually written very well. The story is good and moves along so you don't have time to get bored. And all the actors and actresses play their parts very well. However it is good to not this is not a film for the whole family. There is a lot of suggestive content and some profanity.
