Knight Rider The Complete Series (DVD Review)

Reviewed By Jason S. Lockard

Action shows of the 80s are awesome and if you throw in David Hasselhoff and a supercar in the mix. Well, you are in for some high-octane fun. That is exactly what you got with Knight Rider! Now you can own the complete series of Knight Rider on DVD thanks to the fine folks at Mill Creek Entertainment.

The series was created by Glen A. Larson, the man that brought us Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers of the 25th century, Quincy, The Fall Guy and Magnum P.I. This series Knight Rider follows the adventures of Michael Knight, a detective who was thought to be dead, but has been given a new face, a new identity and a new assignment. He now fights crime with the help of K.I.T.T. an artificially intelligent, talking car with futuristic weapons, high-tech gadgets and a personality of its own.

This 16 disc DVD set includes all 90 action packed almost 50 minute episodes of the entire TV series. The audio and video quality of the episodes are pretty good on DVD!

Now for the DVD packaging! It is a little flimsy! It's a cardboard case holding cardboard sleeves! Do I wish the packaging was better, yes! But in my opinion it's not as bad as people make it out to be! If your careful with the discs they won't get scratched when you take the discs out and when you return them to their sleeves. The cardboard case can get crushed easily yes but it will be fine if your careful with them.

If you prefer better packaging the entire series is on Blu-ray with hard shell Blu-ray cases. But with Blu-ray discs and better packaging the price is more expensive so do keep that in mind.

This is not the 2008 remake series. This is the original and it is the best. This is as classic as it gets. Who could ever forget the theme of this series by Jan Hammer? So if you love 80’s TV or Knight Rider, treat yourself to the complete series. Head over to Amazon or your local video provider and pick these seasons of Knight Rider and gear up for some high octane fun for yourself!
