There have been some strange crossovers in comic book history, but is Batman and the Ninja Turtles really that strange? Actually, No!
I grew up on reruns of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Batman the animated series! So when IDW Publishing announced a crossover between these two needless to say the kid inside of me jumped for joy.
This mini-series event starts when the inmates from Gotham's Arkham start to mysteriously escape from the asylum. But how could this be? It is up to the "The Detective", "The Caped Crusader" to investigate. These villains have not just left Gotham City they have gone to New York City and the home of the Ninja Turtles through a portal!
In this trade paperback we see all our favorite heroes and villains from both universes. Including Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Poison Ivy, Harley Quinn, April O'Neil, Mad Hatter, Scarecrow, Bebop and Rocksteady, The Krangs, Splinter and we even see Joker and Shredder fighting for supremacy.
The story is so much fun to read. Once I started I couldn't put it down. The artwork is the perfect mixture celebrating both the grittiness of Batman and the cartoonish appeal of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and yet somehow blends perfectly.
The interaction between the turtles and the bat family will have you laughing and shedding a tear. Than the action sequences play out just like an episode of each of the tv shows. I can not recommend this book enough.
So if your a fan of Batman the animated series, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Nickelodeon series or if you just love those cross over events this book is a must have. One bit of warning though once you pick it up you won't be able to put it down. Head over to www.IDWPublishing.com and find out how to get your copy today!
