All in the Family was the most ground breaking show in TV history and it introduced us to one of the most unforgettable characters Archie Bunker! After 9 seasons it was time to move on, or so we thought! Than came the spinoff series Archie Bunker's Place! Now Mill Creek Entertainment brings us the complete 1st season of this hilarious spin off to All in the family!

The series follows Archie Bunker, his wife Edith, niece Stephanie and Archie's new business partner in his local saloon Murray Klein (Oscar®-winner Martin Balsam. But that's not all! Than there is the colorful cast of characters including, Archie's good buddies  Barney Hefner and Hank Pivnik, Veronica Rooney, the take no-guff from Archie cook and Mr. Van Ranseleer, blind patron and regular at the bar. These an many others make up a memorable cast of an unforgettable show!

Some of the most memorable episode in this season was the two part opener Archie's new partner; where Archie must swallow his pride to keep his bar open! The Cook; where Archie and Murray open a restaurant and hire a cook that Archie hates. The two part Thanksgiving Reunion; where Mike and Gloria Stivic return to Queen from California, but it's not all good news! And The return of Sammy; When Sammy Davis Jr. visits the bar and restaurant after Archie calls up his talk show.

Spinoff and Sequels almost always never live up to the original, but I have to say Archie Bunker's place holds true to the spirit of All in the family and is a enjoyable series in it's own right!

This Mill Creek 2 disc DVD release brings us all 24 season 1 episodes of Archie Bunker's Place in full screen format and really good picture and audio quality! The DVD menus are easy to access! There is no bonus features, but come on your getting 24 half hour episodes for under 10 bucks!
