Gilmore Girls: The Complete Series Blu-ray Review

During the mid 1990s into the 2000s The WB Network later rebranded to the CW Network was the home for some of the most popular shows on television. I remember watching many of these shows, including Smallville, The Steve Harvey Show, The Wayans Bros., Supernatural and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Probably one of the most loved and most rewatched of the WB/CW series would have to be Gilmore Girls. Last year Gilmore Girls celebrated its 25th Anniversary of the series debut. Now Warner Home Entertainment have released the complete series on Blu-ray.

Synopsis: In Stars Hollow, a charming, slightly off-center town known for green lawns, clapboard houses, and enough quirky characters to fill every hayride, parade and picnic for miles, headstrong 32-y.o. Lorelai Gilmore carves out a comfortable, warm, caffeinated life for herself and her equally willful teen daughter Rory. When Rory's attention turns from dreams of private school and Harvard to boys and adolescent self-reliance, single mom Lorelai begins noticing more of her own rebellious youth in Rory.

Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel are amazing as the Gilmore Girls. But its not just them there are so many great supporting stars included in this cast, including Melissa McCarthy, Keiko Agena, Yanic Truesdale, Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Edward Herrmann, Liza Weil, Jared Padalecki, Milo Ventimiglia, Sean Gunn, Chris Eigeman, and Matt Czuchry.

Okay, so this is kind of a "chick series". But there are some things for the guys, too. Plus, guys, if you start watching this series, you may be surprised and really get into it. Why not give it a shot.... You may just become a fan.

Warner Home Entertainment has transferred the Gilmore Girls to Blu-ray in 1080p and is presented in widescreen format. The audio track is an English Dolby Digital 2.0 and English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1. There is also the option for English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.

Now this set includes all 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls, collected on 30 Blu-ray discs. But in addition, there are featurettes, on-screen factoids, creator/cast spotlights and deleted scenes. But probably the best bonus feature is that they included the mini-series A Year in the Life.

Warner Home Entertainment has made a Blu-ray release that includes great bonus features. So why pay monthly to stream the series when, with a one-time purchase, you can own the whole series and the mini-series forever? That is why physical media is king.

So if you would like to add the Blu-ray set of Gilmore Girls to your home video library, head over to MovieZyng or Amazon and order your copy for yourself or a friend today.

Out of 4 TV Sets (4 being the best) the Blu-ray of Gilmore Girls The Complete Series receives.....
