From the footlights of Broadway to the glow of the theater, the journey of a great musical doesn’t conclude with the final curtain call—many times it is just beginning. Hollywood brought so many Broadway musicals to the big screen over the years.
Warner Archive Collection is releasing a 6-disc Blu-ray set of musicals entitled "The Broadway on Big Screen Collection". This new Blu-ray honors the journey from stage to screen. Spotlighting cinematic moments that will live forever.

These films have been restored and transferred to Blu-ray in 1080p and are presented in widescreen format. The audio tracks are English DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 and 5.1. There are also English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
Warner Archive Collection always puts such love and detail into their restorations. And these classic musicals are no different. The colors pop off the screen at you. The picture transfers are sharp as a tack, and there are no audio defects that I witnessed. Plus, Warner Archive added some great bonus features to each of these discs.

As a kid, I was forced to watch musicals, as my dad loved these kinds of films. Every weekend, our family would go to Blockbuster or other video rental shops and rent movies, and my dad made sure to rent a couple of musicals, much to our family's dismay. Over the years, though, I learned to appreciate the amount of work that went into making these kinds of films. Now, when I watch a musical, it is a wonderful experience as it reminds me of my dad. That is priceless.
Warner Archive has collected these previously released musical Blu-rays and released them in this 6-Blu-ray set. It is truly a wonderful mix of musicals from the decades of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. This is truly a great collection.
